Veterinary Laboratory and Health Program
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM: To close the need for trained personnel in laboratories and areas where veterinary services are provided. However, Who are experienced in animal nutrition and breeding, raising culture and pet animals, protective vaccination, artificial insemination, who can perform food and pathological analyses in public and private laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, who can combat epidemic and parasitic diseases, and who can assist veterinarians in clinical examinations and operations Laboratories that fall within the scope of Veterinary Medicine are to train technical personnel. Thus, it will be ensured that the trained personnel needed for more effective and efficient work of laboratories in the public and private sectors of organizations operating in the field of veterinary and livestock services will be provided.
GRADUATION CONDITIONS: The education period of the Laboratory Technician and Veterinary Health Program consists of 4 semesters, and during this period, students who successfully complete a total of 120 ECTS credits of the compulsory and elective courses that the students must take in the program and 30 workdays of internship and have a GPA of at least 60 out of 100 are granted the title of Laboratory Technician and Veterinary Health Technician with the status of a 2-year associate degree graduate.
Students who successfully complete the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program, meet the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) entrance requirements conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), and whose applications are accepted are taken to the talent exam consisting of verbal and numerical sections. In the placement, the candidates' scores in the aptitude test and the candidates' academic grade point averages are taken into account, and the Associate Degree Success Score is taken into account. In placement, the Associate Degree Success Score, which is determined by considering the candidates' aptitude test scores and the candidates' academic grade point averages, is taken into account. The Vertical Transfer Exam Score is determined by ÖSYM by adding the Associate Degree Success scores to be obtained from the academic grade point averages to the exam scores, and candidates who have received sufficient scores in the Vertical Transfer Exam Guide (Veterinary Faculty and Biology Departments of Science and Literature Faculties) are placed by ÖSYM. In addition, students who are eligible to receive an associate degree and who want to continue in open education undergraduate programs in their fields without quota limitations have the right to directly register to open education undergraduate programs in their fields.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Working environments are open and/or closed areas. In addition to Veterinary Clinic/laboratory work, they work in open or closed areas, mostly in muddy, foul-smelling and dusty environments due to the current structure of animal shelters. They wear special clothing such as overalls, boots, aprons, gloves, glasses and masks required by their profession at work. In the work environment, people generally work standing up. The work requires teamwork as well as individual work. If they are not careful during work, they may contract zoonotic (transmitted from animals to humans) diseases and various infectious diseases or encounter various work accidents. Laboratory Technicians and Veterinary Health Technicians work in collaboration with veterinarians and animal health technicians.
